St. Mariä Empfängnis, Düsseldorf
Facts and practical information
The Roman Catholic church of St. Mary's Conception - also known as St. Mary's Church - was built between 1894 and 1896 according to plans by Ludwig Becker, a cathedral architect from Mainz. It is located opposite the loop-in of Tonhallenstraße in Oststraße in the center of Düsseldorf. The three-nave basilica with its double-towered facade was designed in the cathedral style and is a typical example of Rhenish neo-Gothic architecture. Due to its prominent location, it is visible from far away. The parish belongs to the parish of St. Lambertus in the Düsseldorf city deanery of the Archdiocese of Cologne. In 2011, it merged with the Altstadtgemeinde to form the parish of St. Lambertus.
