Facts and practical information
The Red House in Monschau, North Rhine-Westphalia, is a former ancestral home of the Scheibler family of entrepreneurs and is now open to the public as a museum, presenting in particular bourgeois residential culture at the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries. The large patrician house was probably built between 1752 and 1768 by the cloth manufacturer Johann Heinrich Scheibler. It is called the Red House because of the color of its facade.
