Facts and practical information
Satan - a peak with a height of 2422 m located in the Slovak High Tatras. It belongs to the ridge of the tower separating the Młynicka and Mięguszowiecka valleys. It is located between Satania Pass and the indirect tower, from which he is separated by the pass over the red gully.
Satan is the highest peak of the Baszt ridge. Satan's peak dome is formed by two vertices with a similar height-northwest and south-east, separated by 11 meters of Szatania Szczerbina. In earlier literature, when the names of the peaks and the Brain Pass were not yet as precisely determined as it is today, sometimes Satan was a tower, a tower, etc.
In the southern ridge of Satan, between his southern vertex and the pass on the red gully there are several objects in turn: Satan Returns, Satania Turnia, Niżnie Szatanie Returning, Satan Kopka, Satani Karb, Satania Turniczka.
In this part of the Baszt ridge, there is a large saturation of the "satanic" names. The name Satan is associated with legends, according to which in Satani, Satan is guarding hidden treasures, and on daredevils trying to get them to get stone. Indeed, treasure hunters appeared in this area in the 18th century. The name of the summit was given by Jakob Buchholtz as early as 1751.
