Facts and practical information
The Almagellerhütte is a refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club in the Valais Alps. It is located in the Wysstal below the Dri Horlini. The valley town is Saas-Almagell in the Valais.
Built in 1984, the Almagellerhütte is the youngest hut of the SAC, which is not a replacement of an older hut.
The Almagell hut is the base for the popular glacier-free approach to the Weissmies via the Zwischbergen pass and the Weissmies south ridge. As a two-day tour, the Saas Almagell-Gondo hike over the Zwischbergen Pass is possible.
