The former cemetery of the city of Limburg an der Lahn is located in the immediate vicinity of Limburg Cathedral on Domplatz. The cemetery, which served as the final resting place of both the members of the monastery and the city's population, was expanded several times in the 19th century before being replaced in 1882 by a new main cemetery on the Schafsberg. Since 1965, the cemetery, which is listed for historical and cultural reasons, has been accessible as a park. The former Carner Chapel of St. Michael, also a listed building, is located on the grounds.
