Stöcken City Cemetery is a municipal cemetery of the city of Hannover in the Stöcken district. It was opened in 1891 as the second city cemetery and was enlarged in several steps over the next decades. Today, the cemetery covers 55 hectares and 170,000 people have been buried here since 1891. The cemetery contains graves of prominent people, including Lower Saxony's Prime Minister Hinrich Wilhelm Kopf and the Madsack publishing family. Remains of the victims of serial killer Fritz Haarmann were also buried here.
