Facts and practical information
The Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Museum is located in the residential house built by Friedrich Ludwig Jahn in 1838/39 in Freyburg on Schloßstraße, on the eastern edge of the town near the Unstrutwehr. The conversion of the house into a museum took place in 1936, after it had served as a youth hostel and gymnastics home since 1924. In this context, Jahn's remains were also moved from the Friedrich Ludwig Jahn Memorial Gymnasium, also in Freyburg, to the crypt on the estate.
