The Bible Center Barth, formerly the Low German Bible Center St. Jürgen, was established in the former hospital church of the St. Jürgen Hospital in Barth and displays, among other things, the Barth Bible printed in the city in 1588 in Middle Low German. The Bible Center also sees itself as an educational facility, especially for schools, with contributions to the subjects of history, religion and philosophy, music and art, social studies, local history, literature and Low German.
