The debtors tower - a Gothic gate, located in Nuremberg, placed within the penultimate ring of medieval city walls. After building the next ring of defensive walls in the fourteenth century, the gate was in the middle of the Old Town on the island of Schütt. The gate is located on the Pegnitz River at the Heubrücke bridge. The name comes from keeping debtors imprisoned in this tower.
