Water tower - a Gothic tower, located in Nuremberg, placed within the penultimate ring of medieval city walls. After building the next ring of defensive walls in the fourteenth century, the tower was in the middle of the Old Town opposite the island of Trödelmarkt. The tower is located on the Pegnitz River at the Henkersteg bridge. The name comes from standing a tower directly on the river. On the other side of the river on the island stands Henkerturm.
