Melior-Muehle
Facts and practical information
The Paltrock and Bock windmills Langerwisch are two operational and listed grain mills in Langerwisch, a district of the municipality of Michendorf in the district of Potsdam-Mittelmark in Brandenburg. The windmills are located next to each other at the foot of the 78-meter-high Galgenberg, part of the Saarmunder Endmoränenbogen.
With a wingspan of around 4.5 meters, the trestle windmill is considered the smallest operable windmill in Germany. A master miller had built it in 1938 on a scale of 1:4 as a training mill for his son. Another Langerwisch mill, a Bockmühle dating from 1709, was dilapidated by the 1970s at the latest and finally collapsed in 2002.
