The Sigwardskirche in Idensen, today a district of Wunstorf, is a Romanesque church, which is considered one of the most important small sacral buildings of the Romanesque period because of its architecture and the Romanesque paintings that have been preserved in the original. The parish of Idensen-Mesmerode belongs to the church district of Neustadt-Wunstorf in the Hanover district of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hanover.
