Facts and practical information

The Neutor is a city gate tower of the city fortifications of Linz on the Rhine. Built of basalt and slate quarry stone, it is the tallest building in the city at 25 meters and the easternmost of the Linz city gates, probably after the great city fire of 1391.

The gate is still preserved in contrast to the rest of the city fortification, most of which was demolished in 1861. It is located next to Neustraße 42 and is protected as a cultural monument.
