Tier- und Kulturpark Bischofswerda is the zoo of the city of Bischofswerda in Saxony. With an area of about 0.75 hectares, the zoo is one of the smallest zoos in Germany. The animal population includes about 200 animals in 60 species, mainly domestic and native wild animals, but also coatis, raccoons, monkeys, parakeets, amazons, degus and gerbils. A botanical attraction is the sequoia tree planted in 1981. In nature conservation, the zoo cooperates in a project for the reintroduction of the Little Owl and participates in the international breeding program for the Ecuadorian Amazon.
