Haus Osthoff, Dülmen
Facts and practical information
The Osthoff house is the oldest house in Dülmen. It is the only remaining building of the former knight's estate Osthoff. The estate was acquired in 1727 by the baroness Anna Maria von Landsberg. She is also considered the builder of the manor house.
The cellar is unusually high in design and has a groined vault. The brick house shows the typical baroque architectural style of the 18th century. Until the First World War, Haus Osthoff was a destination for excursions with a beautiful garden and high forest. After the Second World War, it was used as a private residence until the 1960s. After that, however, it lay derelict as a listed ruin and fell into disrepair. At the beginning of the 21st century, it was completely renovated and used as a listed building.
The planning of the open spaces around the building, in the style of a baroque, strictly formal garden, was undertaken in 2003 by the architect Harald Deilmann from Münster together with Franz Kösters on behalf of the owners at the time.
In the summer of 2016, Haus Osthoff received the monument plaque of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
Since May 1, 2019, Haus Osthoff has been owned by the Keskin family of entrepreneurs from Dülmen.
In extensive reconstruction and renovation measures, the Keskin family restored, among other things, the original connection between the vaulted cellar, which is steeped in history, and the main living area.
Today, Haus Osthoff is used as a residential building by the Keskin family and, after the renovations, provides newly acquired office space for the resident companies Kes:Kin Invest GmbH and Kes:Thiel Invest GmbH.
