Emden's water tower stands on Abdenastrasse near what is now the main train station. The structure, built between 1910 and 1912, is owned by the Emden public utility company and is still in use. At 42 meters high, it towers over most of the city's buildings and is an important example of a technical structure from the beginning of the 20th century in Emden. The water tower has been a listed building since 1999.
