The Nuremberg Peace Church is located in the Nuremberg district of St. Johannis at Palmplatz 11. Planning for its construction began in 1916, according to which the Evangelical Lutheran Peace Church was to be a memorial and memorial for the entire city. According to the design of the architect German Bestelmeyer, it was built in 1925-1928. During the Second World War it burned out in 1944 after a bombing raid.
From 1950 to 1952 it was rebuilt after severe war damage.
The entrance portal was designed using stylistic forms of Romanesque church architecture. The interior of the wide hall contains furnishings from the church of the Holy Cross Pilgrims' Hospital, which was destroyed in World War II. The altar in the chancel from the workshop of Michael Wolgemut, originally donated for the Augustinian Church, was named after the master of the Peringsdörfer altar. The three windows of the chancel head feature colored glazing based on designs by Adolf Schinnerer from 1928. The altar of the emergency helpers on the south side of the chancel dates from the mid-15th century. In front of the church is a small fountain with Christian symbols. It was created in 1928 according to the design of German Bestelmeyer; the figures are by Philipp Kittler, the casting by the art foundry Lenz.
