The Old Castle is the ruin of a high medieval hilltop castle near Scheiden, a district of the municipality of Losheim am See in the district of Merzig-Wadern in Saarland.
The wall remains of the historically elusive castle complex can be found on the Adelsköpfchen, about 1/2 km east of the village center of Scheiden. An upper castle on the edge of a high plateau, against which it is protected by a ditch, can be clearly distinguished from a larger lower castle about 10 m lower on a mountain terrace in front of it. The upper castle is approximately rectangular and had a stronger shield wall against the attack side. In the lower castle, there are the remains of a slightly higher rectangular building at the southernmost tip, as well as the traces of an enclosing wall with a gate on the eastern side.
There is no documentary evidence of the castle site. However, it can be dated to the 12th or 13th century based on the layout and wall remains.
