NSG Hörnum-Odde/Sylt, Hörnum
Facts and practical information
The Hörnum-Odde is a dune and heath landscape at the southern tip of the North Frisian island of Sylt in the municipality of Hörnum. To the east is the tideway Hörnumtief, to the southwest the tideway Hörnumloch and the sand Theeknobs. The approximately two-kilometer-long Odde has been under nature protection since 1972 and is particularly threatened by tidal currents and storm surges due to its exposed location. The Hörnum Odde has a high tourist significance.
The nature reserve is managed by the nature conservation society Schutzstation Wattenmeer.
