Friedrichsort Lighthouse is a 31.7-meter-high round reinforced concrete lighthouse with a diameter in the central area of 3.5 meters in the colors green and white. It stands on a small island directly on the beach, on the northwestern side in the Kiel Fjord off Friedrichsort, north of the Kiel Canal at the point where the fjord has its narrowest point. It serves as a guide, cross light and orientation light for entry into Kiel Harbor and to the locks of the Kiel Canal and marks the shoals of Klever Berg and Au-Haken.

The lighthouse island and the lighthouse are registered cultural monuments of the city of Kiel.
