Technische Sammlung Hochhut, Frankfurt
Facts and practical information
The Hochhut Technical Collection is a foundation for the preservation of historic motor vehicles, motorcycles and engines based in the Gallus district of Frankfurt. It is part of the Route of Industrial Culture Rhine-Main.
The collection originated from a private hobby of the entrepreneur Fritz Hochhut, who collected vehicles, engines, steam engines, Stirling engines and other parts from the fields of drives and vehicles over several decades. After his death, the collection was converted into a foundation by former employees in 1999. The Hochhut company, which sells and rents construction machinery and compressors, still exists today. Fritz Hochhut was also one of the founders of the Förderkreis Industrie- und Technikgeschichte e.V.
