The Spremberg Tower is the landmark of the city of Cottbus. It is located in the old town of Cottbus on Spremberger Straße, which is simply called Sprem by the people of Cottbus. The first construction of the Spremberg Tower as a gate tower of the Spremberg Gate dates back to the 13th century. The tower can be climbed since 2007 on many days of the year without advance reservation. From the viewing platform at a height of 28 meters, there is a view over the city of Cottbus to far into the surrounding area.
