The listed building of Potsdam's main post office, formerly also called "Neue Post", stands in Potsdam's city center, in the street Am Kanal number 16 to 18, at the Platz der Einheit, with its back to the Französisches Quartier to Französische Straße as well as to the house on the site of the former Old Synagogue. Since its completion in 1900, it was also the head post office as an administrative unit.
