Angelstein, Neuenbürg
Facts and practical information
The Angelstein is a prominent rock group in the northern Black Forest near Neuenbürg. It is located on the eastern slope of the 556-meter-high Sägkopf, a forested hilltop between the Enz Valley to the north and west and the Grössel Valley to the east. Partly the boulders of Middle Buntsandstein lie on top of each other in such a way that they are habitable and were also used for this purpose in times of need. Due to its natural-historical, landscape-typical and cultural-historical significance, the rock group is protected as a natural monument and also as a geotope under the name Felsgruppe Angelstein, Neuenbürg-Waldrennach with a size of 0.1 hectares.
