Facts and practical information

The Michaelskirche Espelkamp is a church building on Tannenbergplatz in the East Westphalian town of Espelkamp in the district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia and belongs to the Protestant Martins-Kirchengemeinde Espelkamp in the Lübbecke church district of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia. It was built in 1982 as the successor to a church that had already been opened in 1956 for the Martins parish, which consisted mainly of displaced persons and refugees. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was a center of church-political disputes and the scene of important meetings of the Protestant Church in Germany.
