Facts and practical information
The Luther Monument is a monument on the East Frisian island of Norderney in Lower Saxony.
It is a statue of Martin Luther on a pedestal. The monument was made by the Oldenburg-born sculptor and master stonemason Bernhard Högl and erected on Luther's 400th birthday, November 10, 1883, on Kirchstraße in front of the nave of the island church. The dedication inscription on the pedestal names the Lutheran island congregation as the donor of the monument.
Like the church and the old cemetery, the Luther Monument is a listed building.
