The Evangelical Parish Church in Altenkirchen is one of the oldest church buildings on the island of Ruga built of Romanesque stone. Parish church in Altenkirchen, church of St. Paweł in Bobbin, as well as chapels in Dranske, the head and Vitt form one congregation, which since 2012 belong to the presbytery in Stralsund and the Evangelical-Lutheran church of northern Germany, and previously to the Pomeranian Evangelical Church.
