Skrajny Wołoszyn, Tatra National Park
Facts and practical information
Skrajny Wołoszyn, formerly Zadni Garb - a peak in the High Tatras, located in the middle part of the Wołoszyn Ridge, separating the Waksmundzka Valley from the Roztoka Valley.
The peak is the last to the east of the four peaks bearing the name Voloshyn. Skrajny Voloshyn is separated from Pośredni Voloshyn from the west by Niżnią Voloshynské Prze喚cz, while in the east it borders with Wierch nad Zagonnym Żlebem, from which it is separated by a shallow, unnamed pass. From the Lower Voloshinské Saddle the Skalnisty Żleb descends to the Roztoka Valley, whereas in the lower parts of Skrajný Voloshinské slopes there are the Ciemnisty Żleb and the Gaisty Żleb, separated by the so-called New Spalenisko. The steep slopes of the above mentioned rungs are called Półturnie. From the side of the Waksmundzka Valley are located in the vicinity of Skrajny Wołoszyn the Waksmundzka Równica with small ponds and the Waksmundzka Równica.
Through the Waloszyn massif was carried out in the early twentieth century by the priest Walenty Gadowski route Orla Perć. However, the section from Polana pod Wołoszynem to Krzyżne has been closed for many years, while the entire Wołoszyn massif has been placed under strict protection and excluded from tourist and mountaineering traffic.
The former name Zadni Garb was given by Father Gadowski, to whom Voloshin's appearance resembled a camel with two humps.
