Biała Skała
Facts and practical information
White Rock - a rock on the slope of Kacze in Mały Pieniny, located by the Pienińska Road and closing the outlet of the Pieniński Gorge from the east. It is very well visible even from the bridge in Krościenko. It rises to a height of about 665 m above sea level and is built of Pieniny series hornblende limestone. From the side of the Pieniny Road it has a relative height of about 130 m and is very steep, almost vertical. Before the World War II there was a tourist marked, very steep climb to the top leading through the forest from the north to the switchbacks between Bystrzyk and Biała Skała. Currently this trail does not exist.
At Biala Skala there is a ferry crossing over the Dunajec New Carriage and one of the Pavilions of Pieniny National Park. Interesting flora. At the foot of the Biała Skala at an altitude of 480 m grows, among others, a very rare in Poland species of plant - the dandelion.
