The Church of the Holy Spirit is the church of the Catholic parish of Holy Spirit in Hagen in the district of Emst. The laying of the foundation stone took place on May 9, 1954. The consecration took place on June 12, 1955 by the auxiliary bishop Franz Hengsbach from Paderborn. The church was designed by the well-known Cologne architect Dominikus Böhm, who had a decisive influence on church building in Germany in the post-war years.
Today, the parish of Heilig-Geist belongs together with the parish of St. Elisabeth to the pastoral association Hagen-Mitte in the archdiocese of Paderborn.
