St. Adolfus, Düsseldorf
Facts and practical information
The Catholic church of St. Adolfus stands in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort, Kaiserswerther Straße 62. The Cordobastraße running along the south side of the church is an indication that the church is dedicated to the Spanish martyr St. Adolphus, whom - according to descriptions by the priest Eulogius - the Emir of Córdoba had executed in the 9th century.
St. Adolfus follows the neo-Romanesque style. The church has two towers and is designed as a basilica. The tower facade, whose structure bears a strong resemblance to the tower facade of the church of St. Heribert in Cologne-Deutz, forms the focal point of Pfalzstraße.
