Steintor
The Stone Gate in its present form is a gate built in 1574 to 1577 in the Renaissance architectural style in the south of the historic Rostock city fortifications. It replaced the older gate, which was sanded in 1566.
Kuhtor
The Kuhtor is not only the oldest of the still existing four of formerly 22 gates of the historic Rostock city fortifications, but also one of the oldest buildings in Rostock and probably the oldest preserved city gate in northern Germany.
Kröpeliner Tor
As the westernmost of the four large gates of the Rostock city fortifications, the Kröpelin Gate was built in the Gothic style around 1270. Even then it was very large with its two stories and remained one of the most massive of the city gates...
