Herz Jesu, Saarbrücken
Facts and practical information
The Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart in Saarbrücken was designed by architects Ludwig Becker and Anton Falkowski and consecrated in 1914. The neo-Romanesque church is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as its patron saint. The patronal feast is the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the third Friday after Pentecost. The church, which is listed as an individual monument in the monument list of the Saarland, is located at Odilienbergstraße 1, in the Burbach district of Saarbrücken. The Sacred Heart Church is, after the Burbach St. Eligius Church and the Malstatt St. Josef Church, historically the third Catholic church of the Malstatt-Burbach municipality, which was independent from 1874/75 to 1909. The church is assigned to the diocese of Trier.
