Kropsburg, Sankt Martin
Facts and practical information
The Kropsburg, also called Kropfsegg, is a medieval castle in the district of the southern Palatinate wine-growing community of St. Martin in the Südliche Weinstraße district.
Before its destruction in 1689, the Spornburg was, among other things, the seat of the Knights of Dalberg. A successor building erected in 1771 by a Dalberg descendant from the rubble in the courtyard of the lower castle was operated as a restaurant in the 20th century. In the meantime, this restaurant has been closed and the castle is no longer accessible. However, a newer restaurant exists in the outer castle.
