Facts and practical information
The Emmaus Church in Borna has high cultural and historical significance in Saxony. It originally stood in Heuersdorf; however, since this location was destroyed for the Schleenhain lignite mining operation in the Central German mining district, the entire structure was moved to Borna in one piece in 2007. In architectural monument preservation, this process is referred to as a building relocation.
