Heimathaus Schöneiche, Schöneiche
Facts and practical information
The Schöneiche Home House is an architectural monument in Schöneiche near Berlin and also the oldest preserved residential house in the village.
The Schöneiche home is located in Kleinschönebeck at Dorfaue 8. It is the last preserved house of its kind in the entire village. It is a so-called double parlor house in half-timbered construction. It was built around the middle of the 18th century. Between 1981 and 1984 it was reconstructed and restored by and on the initiative of the Schöneicher Heimatfreunde association. The house has a central corridor, which crosses the entire building. In the middle there is a hearth with an open fireplace, the so-called black kitchen. It is one of the few kitchens of this type still preserved today. Today, the house houses a permanent exhibition, showing the life and living conditions of a full farmer and his family around 1750 in the eastern part of the Mark Brandenburg. Old useful plants are cultivated in the garden of the house. The building is part of the protected monument area Dorfaue, the historic center of the district Klein-Schönbeck, but is also on the monument list of the state of Brandenburg as an individual object.
