Maria de Victoria church - Catholic Church in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany.
The building began to be erected in April 1732 for the assembly hall and an oratory for members of the Student Marian Congregation, operating at the local Jesuit College. The building stood in the vicinity of the buildings of the College and the then church of St. Cross. The construction was most likely managed by the then municipal masonry champion in Ingolstadt and the builder of the Jesuit college Michael Anton Prunthaller. In the undertaking, patterns occurring in other Jesuit buildings are clearly visible, including a significant similarity to the so-called Bürgersaal. The church was dedicated on July 1, 1736.
A simple, uncovereless building, maintained in a baroque style, adheres to the peak wall straight to the street. The facade is topped with a triangular peak with volutes. The interior of the church was designed and made by the leading Bavarian masters from the Baroque and Rococo breakthrough, Munich, Assam Brothers. In particular, the great painting decoration, and above all the fresco covering the ceiling - the work of Kosima Asam from 1734. A painting with a perfectly captured perspective, covering an area measuring 40 x 10.5 m and depicting incarnatio Dominica, is the largest flat ceiling fresco in the world. The fee for decorative works in the church Maria de Victoria was valued at 10,000 guilders. The ass, in exchange for counting them as the founders, agreed to 5,000.
The altar composition from 1759 covers the painting from 1675 showing the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary - the work of Franz Geiger of Landshut, a stucco canopy from 1734 by Egid Kwiryn Asama and an altar superstructure with figures of the patrons of four faculties and the presentation of the Holy Trinity - all the works of woodcarving Johann Michael Fischer of Dillingen An der Donau.
The unique object stored in the sacristy of the church is the so -called Monster from Lepanto - one of the most valuable facilities of its kind in the world.
