The Herrentheyer Wald nature reserve is located in Dortmund's Holthausen statistical district, which is part of the Eving borough, in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The area used to belong to the municipality of Brambauer. On July 1, 1950, it became part of the city of Dortmund. It is located south of the A2 freeway and east of the Dortmund-Ems Canal. It covers 22.3 hectares. The nature reserve "Herrentheyer Wald", also called "Holzkamp", was placed under protection by the first amendment to the landscape plan Dortmund-Nord on September 2, 2005.
