The Church of the Savior in Duisburg-an old Evangelical Church of Augsburg, located in the center of Duisburg at Alte Markt Square. It belongs to the Evangelischen Kirchengemeinde Alt-Dyburg parish community. It was built in the fourteenth century on the site of an older royal church.
The church of the Holy Savior together with the cathedral of St. Willibord in a wedding is one of the greatest examples of late -Gothic sacred art in the eastern part of the Düsseldorf region in West Westphalia.
The current Evangelical Church received the call of Christ, the Savior of the World, patron of the city of Duisburg.
The church is buried: cartographer Gerard Merkator and founder of Alte Universität in Duisburg, doctor of theology and philosopher Johannes Clauberg.
