The church of Santa Maria de Praediis or in Praediis finds the origin of its name from the Latin word praedium which means: fund - farm, a term that expresses its characteristic of being a church located in the countryside. The religious building is located on a modest level rise among the fields near the small urban centers of the hamlets of Pantaneto, Colle Caruno and Castagneto in the municipality of Teramo, in the territory north of the city, along the road leading to Ascoli Piceno.
