The Monastery of St. Benedict, dedicated to the saint from Norcia, is a monastery complex located in Conversano, the construction of which began in the 6th century. Currently, the Monastery of St. Benedict is no longer a monastic convent but is a place of culture owned by the Municipality of Conversano. Inside, it houses the Civic Archaeological Museum, the operational headquarters of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, the G. Di Vagno, the oratory of the Cathedral Basilica. Most of the places on the second floor are affected by two major projects of structural renovation and re-roofing.
