The Ducal Palace of Reggio Emilia is a building on Corso Garibaldi at number 57-59, in Reggio Emilia. It stands opposite the temple of the Blessed Virgin of the Ghiara and houses the headquarters of the province and prefecture offices.
It was built in the late 18th century as the seat of the governor of Reggio where a monastery had previously stood. In 1814 it was donated by the city to Duke Francis IV of Austria-Este, and from 1838 to 1845 it underwent numerous interventions by the neoclassical architect Pietro Marchelli, who gave it its recent forms.
