Chiesa di Santa Maria in Silva, Brescia
Facts and practical information
The church of Santa Maria in Silva is a church in Brescia, located on the side of Via Corsica, in the last stretch before Piazza della Repubblica. The building, designed by architect Rodolfo Vantini between 1853 and 1857, replaced the old church located on the other side of the street, which was demolished. Besides being important in its own right as the work of Vantini, the church contains some valuable paintings, including a fresco by Angelo Inganni, a canvas by Lattanzio Gambara, and one by an anonymous sixteenth-century artist.
