Pares, Dolomites
Facts and practical information
Monte Pares, is a mountain in the Dolomites, in the Eastern Dolomites group of Badia, 2,396 m high.
Mount Pares separates the Spessa valley from the Marebbe valley. It breaks away from the Sasso di Santa Croce at the S. Antonio pass, thus making a separate group along with the peak of S. Antonio and Furcia dai Fers, and extends, overlooking the Marebbe valley to the north and the Rit alp to the south to the Rit gigo to the west. Its culmination actually possesses two names. While the name Pares is the one used by the inhabitants of La Valle that later passed into the Italian language, the name Sas de Crosta is the one used by the inhabitants of Marebbe.
Pares is also part of the Fanes - Sennes - Braies nature park and the UNESCO heritage site Dolomites
The summit can be reached from the south, from the Rit Alp, above the village of La Valle.
