The Swabian castle is located in Porto Recanati, in the Marche region of Italy. It was named after Frederick II of Swabia. It was built in the first half of the 13th century, probably around 1225, when some of the structures of the square tower were built.

It was then fortified with new walls in 1369 and a moat was added in 1404.
