Church of San Michele, Villasalto
Facts and practical information
The church of San Michele Arcangelo is a religious building located in Villasalto, a town in southeastern Sardinia. Consecrated to Catholic worship, it is the seat of the parish of the same name and is part of the archdiocese of Cagliari.
Built in 1600 at the behest of Archbishop Alonso Lasso Sedeno, it replaced the now unsuitable church of Santa Barbara as parish church. The church has a single-nave hall, covered with a barrel vault, over which several side chapels open. It preserves inside two paintings and some wooden statues from the 17th century and an 18th-century pipe organ.
