Palazzetto dello Sport "Giuliano Guerrieri", Fabriano
Facts and practical information
The Giuliano Guerrieri sports arena is a sports facility located in Fabriano.
It has a seating capacity of about 4,050, distributed solely in two stands on either side of the playing rectangle. The material from which it is constructed is mainly wood. There are no corner sections behind the hoops.
The facility was inaugurated in March 1983 on the occasion of Honky Fabriano-Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro 83-79, a match valid for the last day of the 1982-83 Serie A Serie A1 championship, the first played by the Fabriano people in the top league.
From 1996 to 2002 the facility was named PalaIndesit for sponsorship reasons, until 2002 when it was approved to name the arena in memory of Giuliano Guerrieri, a coach who led Fabriano Basket from its founding until 1979, taking it from the minor leagues to the B Series. The decision to adopt the name PalaGuerrieri was also made according to a signature collection held in the city. The official ceremony took place on May 12, 2002, during the game against Victoria Libertas Pallacanestro, which was valid for the round of 16 of the Serie A playoffs.
As of now, the sports hall is uninhabitable due to structural damage also caused by poor maintenance.
