Santnerpasshütte - Rifugio Passo Santner, Tiers
Facts and practical information
The Santner Pass Refuge is a refuge in the Catinaccio mountain group in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, more specifically in the municipality of Tires. It is enclosed to the north and south by two imposing rock faces, one of which is the Cima Catinaccio, at 2981 meters above sea level the second highest mountain in the entire range. To the east a glacial gorge connects it to the Re Alberto refuge, below the Torri del Vajolet; to the west opens a precipice of almost a thousand meters in altitude, furrowed by the Passo Santner via ferrata, which connects the refuge to the Fronza alle Coronelle refuge.
