The basilica of the Holy Face, or also sanctuary of the Holy Face, is one of the most important churches in Manoppello, located outside the town, in the pre-existing convent of the Capuchin Friars Minor, dedicated to St. Michael the Archangel.
The basilica is a pilgrimage destination because it houses a relic that legend has it is the veil of Veronica.
In September 2006 it was visited by Pope Benedict XVI and elevated to the dignity of a minor basilica.
