Facts and practical information
The parish church of San Pietro in Vincoli in Lanzo Torinese is the seat of the only parish in the Piedmontese town. The original medieval chapel was demolished in the first half of the 16th century to make the adjacent castle more isolated and, therefore, defensible. After the latter was demolished by the French, the parish church was rebuilt on the same site as the previous one. Since 1984 the parish of Lanzo has been entrusted by Bishop Ballestrero of Turin to the Salesian order.
